Dear Educators:
READ TO ROVER is a unique program offered
to you for the purpose of improving individual reading skills. This
program is offered free of charge with trained volunteers through
Jae-Mar-S Therapy Pets.
Our organization has served schools and
hospitals for more than twenty years. The dogs are temperament
tested by National Tester/Observers and the teams@
are registered and insured through Therapy Dogs Inc. A copy of the
liability insurance may be made available to you upon request.
The availability of this service is very
limited at this time. A registered team (dog and handler) attends
class to listen to a child read and show the pictures to the dog.
This program has proven successful wherever it has been initiated.
The one-on-one or small groups of children are motivated to read out
loud. Thus, their reading skills are improved!
Scheduling may be arranged with the
volunteer that has expressed an interest in serving your facility
with the Read to Rover@
program.
