Testing Potential Therapy Dogs for Uplifting Visits

Therapy dogs provide emotional and physical therapy and the unconditional love of an animal. Jae-Mar-S Academy of Dog Obedience schedules therapy dog visits at hospitals, nursing homes, schools, and other institutions in Augusta, Georgia, and the Central Savannah River Area. The old and young alike enjoy spending time with our loveable, hardworking canines that are all tested for temperament, control, and health. This community service program is on a volunteer basis, and additional members are always welcome.

Would Your Dog Make a Good Therapy Dog?

We offer therapy dog testing and orientation at 5:30 p.m. on the first Friday of each month. There is no fee for taking the test, but you must preregister. Also, bring a copy of their rabies certificate and the negative fecal statement from your veterinarian for attaching to the form sent to the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. No dog is too small or too large for the Alliance of Therapy Dogs. Please call Marlene if you plan to bring your dog for testing.
